A Louisville coffee shop owner says he’ll enter the 2010 race for Louisville Metro Mayor as an independent candidate.Dr. Nimbus Couzin is the owner of Ray’s Monkey House in the Highlands and a former professor of physics who plans to run on a campaign of sustainable urban development and support of small businesses over larger developers.Couzin says he plans to compete against more well known candidates by refraining from party politics and by building grassroots support."There is a fair amount of grumbling among both parties, both Democrats and Republicans and I think this really is a good time for somebody to step in and say, 'Hey, maybe we don't want exactly the same thing we've been getting over and over again.'"So far only Democrat Greg Fischer has declared his candidacy for Metro Mayor. Couzin says he plans to file his candidacy papers today.
