Voting Computer Problems Force Switch in Kenton County

Polls workers in Kenton County, Kentucky have switched voting machines, after their original machines – called eSlates – were discovered to have been programmed incorrectly. When a voter marked a straight-party ticket, the machines didn’t tally their vote in a local state senate race.Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Les Fugate says the problem was discovered early this morning."The county board of elections has voted to remove those voting systems from voting, they also have electronic 1242 machines, which is what a majority of Kentuckians cast their votes on anyway, and the county board of elections is discussing how to proceed further," says Fugate.Fugate says in Louisville, there are reports of long lines at some polling locations. He also says they found out last night about 28-hundred voters received a mailer from the Kentucky Democratic Party, incorrectly identifying their polling location. Voters can check their polling location at the Secretary of State’s website… in the Voter Information Center.Polls close at 6pm.
