Clinton, Obama Prepare For Battle In Indiana

The two candidates seeking the Democratic presidential nomination are intensifying their efforts to capture Indiana's 72 delegates in the May 6 primary. Last week, New York Senator Hillary Clinton made a series of stops across the Hoosier State and is expected to return later this week.    Her husband and daughter campaigned for her in northern Indiana Monday. Now, the Barack Obama campaign has announced it is setting up ten field offices across the state, and the Illinois senator is expected to be a frequent visitor to Indiana over the next six weeks."Even though this campaign has gone on for some time, there's still a deficit of knowledge about him and his background and his ideas," says David Plouffe, Obama's national campaign manager.   "So there's no better way to fill that gap of knowlege than in person.  And so we're going to have a very heavy campaign schedule in Indiana."The campaigns are also setting their sights on Kentucky's May 20 primary.   Former President Clinton will campaign for his wife Tuesday in Frankfort, Paris, Maysville and Morehead.
