Zachary Lopes is a professor of piano at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He’s a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He’s performed across the US, in Italy and the Czech Republic, and even appeared once on CBS’s Sunday Morning. Lopes is working on an album of Robert Muczynski's piano sonatas, and during his in-studio talked about the composer and played his rarely heard First Piano Sonata, Op. 9 from 1957. Lopes also played a sonata of Haydn and an etude of Rachmaninoff.
