According to the Spring © 2009 Arbitron radio ratings, the three stations of Louisville Public Media (89.3 WFPK, 90.5 WUOL, 91.9 WFPK) have achieved the highest listener numbers in their history, with an overall 38% increase in audience over spring 2008, making Public Radio in Louisville the number two-rated radio audience overall with 35-64-year-old adults. This report offers further correlation between the three stations’ efforts to offer more and better content, and the growing numbers of listeners who seek that content. LPM Vice President Todd Mundt said, “Now, more than ever, people are looking for quality, independent journalism, and we're working harder than ever to fulfill that need. We're also excited to see continued growth for our music stations, which are committed to supporting the local cultural scene.”At a time of increased decentralization of media and declining revenues and audience for traditional formats, Louisville Public Media’s last five membership campaigns have also been record breakers. For more information, please contact LPM Vice President Todd Mundt at (502) 814-6500 or tmundt@louisvillepublicmedia.org.
