Greater Louisville, Inc. the Metro Chamber of Commerce, has named a new president and CEO.Kent Oyler most recently served as managing partner of OPM Services, a financial services and investment firm. GLI says Oyler has founded or co-founded more than 18 other businesses.
Oyler replaces Craig Richard, who resigned in February amid the organization’s financial and other struggles. His appointment comes about a month after Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer announced that the city would end its nearly $1 million contract with GLI and create its own economic development arm, called “Louisville Forward.”Oyler says he's already spoken to Fischer about a role for GLI in the effort. "We go way back, so it’s not like we have to invent a relationship. We probably have a 20 year relationship in business and civic arenas and projects. That’s not a problem."Kent Oyler will assume the post on June 1.
