In Kentucky's Fourth Congressional District race, Republican Thomas Massie raised ten times more than Democrat Bill Adkins during the second quarter.According to Federal Election Commission report, Massie, who is the Lewis County Judge-Executive, garnered $247,493 compared to $21,783 by the Adkins campaign. Massie also has some notable contributors, including the infamous Koch brothers.From the Cincinnati Enquirer: The political action committee of Libertarian-minded donors Charles and David Koch, Koch Industries Inc., donated $5,000 to Massie’s campaign at the end of June. Another $109,000 came from people around the country donating through of the Club For Growth PAC, which touts reduced taxes and smaller government.Political observers are waiting for Governor Steve Beshear to decide on the date of a special election to fill the seat that was unexpectedly left open by former Congressman Geoff Davis, who resigned five months ahead of schedule.
