Given the pending retirement of longtime city auditor Mike Norman, Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer has named Metro employee Ingram Quick as interim Internal Auditor through 2011.The appointment is effective immediately, and Fischer will search for a permanent replacement. Quick is the first African-American to serve as the city's inspector of accounts.“Ingram has the skills and qualifications to lead our city through the next several months,” Fischer said in a news release. “He brings years of audit experience and a deep knowledge of local government to his new leadership role.”Quick earned his bachelor’s degree from Tennessee State University and is a certified fraud examiner and certified internal auditor.He started his career with city government in 2001, working as a senior accountant in health department. He has also worked in the Office of Management and Budget as a grant monitor until he joined the internal auditor's office in 2005.The internal auditor is charged with providing independent accounts of various government operations to assure their effectiveness.
