Grayson Urges Supporters To Back Rand Paul

By Rick HowlettKentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson is urging his supporters to rally behind Rand Paul in the general election campaign.     Paul, a Bowling Green eye doctor and member of the Tea Party movement, defeated Grayson in the Republican primary for the seat being vacated by Jim Bunning. In his concession speech aired live on KET, Grayson told his followers not to be discouraged by his defeat and to remain active in the party."Even sometimes elections don't turn out the way you'd like it.....stay involved, find the next candidate, find the next campaign, find the next cause and keep moving it forward," he said.Grayson, who was endorsed by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, said he and Paul have their differences, but there are more things that unite them than divide them.Paul told supporters in his victory speech that "I have a message from the Tea Party....we have come to take our government back....from the special interests who think that the federal government is their own personal ATM."(Photo of Trey Grayson, left, courtesy of Kentucky Secretary of State's Office; Photo of Rand Paul courtesy of Paul for Senate campaign).
