Winter Storm Heading for Louisville

Snow accumulations of three to five inches are on the way for the Louisville area.Forecaster Mike Callahan with the National Weather Service in Louisville says the storm system that is bringing the precipitation should arrive early Thursday and drastically alter temperatures.“The temperatures are going to fall," says Callahan. "It’s going to be quite windy. It’s going to be difficult to measure this snow because it’s going to be very dry, fluffy snow, so it’s going to drift quite a bit. Bad news as far as temperatures are concerned into the weekend, we could see highs struggling to hit 20.”Callahan says snow should stop falling in the southern parts of Jefferson County by Thursday afternoon, but northern sections could get an additional inch. The area is under a winter storm watch.
