City Adds 315 Miles to Snow Clearing Effort

When snow starts falling on Louisville this winter, city road crews will have an additional 315 miles of road to clear from last year.Public Works Director Ted Pullen says Louisville will clear most state roads in the city starting this year, including roads like Breckinridge Lane and Beulah Church Road.“These are major, major roads with multiple lanes, and we have the equipment necessary to take care of those," says Pullen, "and we feel we’ll be able to do this in the same manner we’ve been able to do the local roads that we’ve done over the years.”Pullen says 900 miles of road are slated to be pre-treated with brine before a snow storm comes, and the city has purchased 40,000 tons of salt.
