Two FEMA Disaster Recovery Offices Open

Applicants for federal financial disaster aid are filing into two disaster recovery offices set up by FEMA. The offices are at 1701 Muhammad Ali Blvd. and 2911 Taylor Blvd. FEMA spokesperson Ron Whittington says that’s where individuals can apply for federal loans or grants to recover from the flood. He says it’s sometimes a frustrating process for people.“A lot of these people have been through a trauma, and they having a lot of anxiety, and we don’t want to add to that," says Whittington, "and once they come in, if they’re registered with FEMA already and they have that information, it just makes the process go that much quicker.”He says more than one thousand people have applied for aid.For those who still want to apply, Whittington says they can make the process easier by pre-registering with FEMA online or by phone, and then bringing insurance and proof of residency documents to their office. He says the two disaster recovery offices will be open as long as there is a need for them.Louisville FEMA Disaster Recovery Offices
