Kentucky Democrats Hold Convention Saturday

The Kentucky Democratic Convention is tomorrow in Lexington. Party chair Jennifer Moore says every four years the party holds an election for its leadership."We started back in April and had our precinct elections and now we’re getting ready to go into the state convention, where democrats from across the Commonwealth have been elected to come as delegates, to the state convention, and they will vote on state party leadership, our governing board is the state’s central committee, and they will also vote on delegates to go to Denver," she said.Around 400 people have applied for the 34 open spots to represent Kentucky at the National Democratic Convention in August. They’ll also elect a ninth superdelegate who will also go to Denver.Kentucky Republicans also hold their convention Saturday, in Bowling Green.
