The Louisville Metro Council is preparing to review the mayor’s proposed budget for the next fiscal year. The council’s budget committee sessions will start with a public hearing this week.Committee chair Cheri Bryant Hamilton says the hearing will not only give the council feedback on the budget, but also will give members an idea of where to spend their discretionary funds.“There may be things that we can do as council people to help later on, through some of our funds," says Hamilton. "There may not be even some changes we can make in the budget, but there may be something we can do.”The public hearing will be Wednesday morning at 9:30 in the Council chambers. There will be another hearing two weeks later. The full council is expected to vote on a final budget on June 26th.
