Germs

Germs

They’re everywhere, in schools, on the park bench, and don’t even mention the public toilets. On any surface lurks a bout of flu, or worse. Bacteria, viruses, parasites and protozoa—we hock them up, scald them in fever and smother them in hand sanitizer. We enter bathrooms with nuanced exit strategies, and sing Happy Birthday at the sink. We spray, we swish, we check expiration dates. Yes, Americans are cleaner than ever before, but are we healthier? Do fewer germs mean less disease? Are we obsessed with hygiene? Join us Wednesday when we discuss all things germy.
