Yes, the title of the new Dawes album, We're All Gonna Die, definitely gets your attention. It's especially interesting after the title their 2013 record, Stories Don't End. It's not contradictory, but does add some finality to an otherwise optimistic promise. Titles aside though, this new disc is shaping up to be one of their best after hearing the rejuvenated sound of "When The Tequulia Runs Out" and hearing that they've invited along some famous friends, including Brittany Howard and Louisville's own Jim James to contribute. The latest offering is the title track, a poetic ballad with some great sonic flourishes. Check it out.
