WFPK Hires John Timmons
Timmons Begins Regular Saturday Show on January 5, 2013
(Louisville, KY) 91.9 WFPK Radio Louisville is proud to announce that John Timmons will become the host of his own on-air, weekly program on Saturdays between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., beginning January 5, 2013. Timmons began substituting for Relics in 2012 and has become a regular substitute for other deejays over the past year.
"After several months of hearing John on-air, I began to feel that he had a real potential to become a permanent personality on WFPK,” commented Stacy Owen, 91.9 WFPK Program Director. “I’m thrilled to have him on the team and hosting his own weekly program. Listeners will greatly benefit from his wealth of musical knowledge, years of immersion in the Louisville music scene and a natural ability to communicate to our audience!”

About John Timmons
Originally from Evansville, Indiana, Timmons moved to Louisville in 1976 when began working for Karma Records on Bardstown Road. Stints at other local music stores followed, including Vine and Phoenix Records, then 26 years as owner/operator of ear-X-tacy. He has been active in the Louisville business community as the founder of the “Keep Louisville Weird” campaign and co-founder of LIBA, the Louisville Business Alliance (Buy Local First). Timmons has also served on the board of directors for The Coalition of Independent Music Stores (CIMS), The Americana Music Association, and The Association For Independent Music in addition to LIBA.
