Here's the Logo for Louisville's Expected Pro Soccer Team

Here's an early look at some of the details of Louisville's expected new pro soccer team.Wayne Estopinal, a local architect and minority owner of the current Orlando City Soccer Club who has spearheaded the effort of bringing the team to Louisville, said on Tuesday that he fully expects Wednesday’s announcement to be celebratory.Louisville will officially be home to a USL PRO division soccer team, Estopinal expects. And when professional soccer players take the pitch in Louisville, they will be meshing their current Orlando look with some of the culture their new home is well-known for.Bourbon, or course. Fleur de lis, check. A main color that combines a rivalry that goes back generations and divides the city between red and blue, indeed. The Louisville City Football Club’s logo will be a purple shield, the same as Orlando City. But the Louisville version will feature a bourbon barrel-inspired background and a gold fleur de lis in the center.  The latter two seem synonymous with Louisville. The team will play home games at Slugger Field.  The first baseline will be used as a sideline and the third base area will be home to one of the goals.  Astroturf will be placed over the baselines, Estopinal said.

Wednesday’s press conference is open to the public. Estopinal said he expects up to 200 people to attend.“I hope we can get some chants lined up so we can give everyone a taste of what the atmosphere around a professional soccer game really is,” he said.
