Two teenagers are facing criminal charges in connection with a string of violent incidents that swept through downtown Louisville last weekend.
On March 22,nearly 200 teens gatherednear the Big Four Bridge to honor two victims of a TARC bus stabbing. There were 17 incident reports filed and 32 calls were made for police assistance.According to a statement released by Metro Police, Shaquazz E. Allen, 18, and Tyrone D. Booker, 19, were arrested on Friday around 6 p.m.The two face seven counts of first degree unlawful imprisonment and one count each of third degree assault and fourth degree criminal mischief. Authorities said the charges stem from an incident that involved a woman being punched in the face while she was in her vehicle at the intersection of First and Jefferson Street. Today's police action brings the total number of arrests related to last week's violence up to four.Je'Rece M. Archie, 18, and an unidentified 17-year-old male were taken into custody on March 22 after witnesses observed the two men removing a gun from a trash can near Waterfront Park in downtown Louisville.More arrests are expected, but police have declined to comment on how they obtained information that resulted in the most recent arrests.
