The Louisville Cardinals return to action in Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium for the first time since their Sugar Bowl upset of Florida.U of L takes on Ohio in the teams’ season opener Sunday afternoon.Coach Charlie Strong’s Cardinals are ranked ninth in the country, their highest-ever preseason ranking."I think winning a Sugar Bowl was good for them, but they also understand that they really have to work now because the level of expectation has risen. They want to set the standard for the program and they want to understand how to manage those expectations," Strong said. Strong’s team has numerous returning starters, including Heisman Trophy candidate Teddy Bridgewater at quarterback.While favored to win, Strong says the Cards can’t take Ohio for granted. The Bobcats are coming off two straight bowl victories and upset Penn State in last season’s opener.Kickoff at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium is 3:30pm.
