Mark Stoops Is New Kentucky Wildcats Football Coach

Update: The University of Kentucky has confirmed that Florida State defensive coordinator Mark Stoops will be the Wildcats' new football coach, according to a statement on the football program's website.From the statement: Mark Stoops, who oversaw dramatic improvements as defensive coordinator at Florida State and Arizona, and has turned FSU into one of the nation's top defenses, has been named head football coach at the University of Kentucky, UK director of athletics Mitch Barnhart announced Tuesday.Stoops has served as an assistant coach at Arizona, Miami (Fla.), Wyoming, Houston and other schools. His brother Bob Stoops is the head coach of the Oklahoma Sooners. Another brother, Mike Stoops, served as the head coach of the Arizona Wildcats.Earlier: Florida State University defensive coordinator Mark Stoops will become the next football coach at the University of Kentucky, according to reports from WYMT-TV and Kentucky Sports Radio, which says an official announcement will come from UK this afternoon.UK has been looking for a replacement for Joker Phillips, who was fired late in the season.Here's Stoop's bio from the Florida State website.
