The winner of today’s Boston Marathon is a former University of Louisville track star. Wesley Korir holds several records at U of L, where he earned All-America honors in 2007. He graduated in 2008 with a degree in biology.Korir, a native of Kenya, also attended Murray State University.He won the Boston Marathon in a heat-slowed time of 2 hours, 12 minutes and 40 seconds.(Photo courtesy of Boston Athletic Association)
Rick Howlett was midday host and the host of LPM's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." He was with LPM from 2001-2023 and held many different titles, including Morning Edition host, Assignment Editor and Interim News Director. He died in August 2023. Read a remembrance of Rick here.
