Dealing with Distemper at LMAS: Today on Here and Now

Louisville Metro Animal Services is currently dealing with several cases of distemper in dogs at its facilities, and the department is opening up a temporary shelter to deal with the latest outbreak. The disease is highly contagious and causes respiratory ailments, depression and loss of appetite. There have been 10 reported cases of distemper in dogs since June of 2011.Today on Here and Now we spoke with Director Justin Scally for an update on the situation, their options in dealing with the current problem, and trying to prevent future outbreaks.
