This weekend, residents of west and southwest Louisville are holding a rally in Chickasaw Park. It’s called “People, Not Poisons,” and they’ll be protesting the large concentration of industrial plants in their neighborhoods, and the environmental concerns they say are caused by the industries. The rally takes place this Saturday, August 13th, from 1:00-5:30PM.One of their speakers will be Michele Roberts. She’s the Campaign and Policy Coordinator of the non-profit Advocates for Environmental Human Rights, a law firm that fights for people’s right to live in a healthy environment. She spoke with WFPL’s Erica Peterson today on Here and Now about environmental justice and some of the issues in Louisville.
