There are signs of a breakthrough in the Indiana House of Representatives stalemate. The leader of boycotting House Democrats said he had a "very positive" meeting with Republican House Speaker Brian Bosma Wednesday.Democratic Leader Patrick Bauer said he would caucus with fellow representatives who fled to Illinois last month to protest the GOP legislative agenda. Because of the timing of the meetings, Bauersaid it was unlikely the Democrats would return to the House floor on Thursday. Bosma was also scheduled to meet with Republican legislators.House Democrats left for Urbana, Illinois on February 22 in protest of Republican-backed education and labor-related bills. The lack of a quorum has prevented the House from conducting most business.
