How the U.S. Ends Its Wars

STATE OF AFFAIRS 02/07/11: How does the U.S., as a country, handle the ends of military conflicts? How do we deal with the countries we leave behind? USMA Professor and 27-year Army veteran Col. Matthew Moten has gathered 15 essays about the ends of American wars – from the conflict that began us, the Revolutionary War, to the first Gulf War. In Between War and Peace, the authors examine last battles, surrenders, political spins, and lasting effects. Join us this Monday for a conversation about how the U.S. ends its wars.
