Ford Motor Company's president for the Americas will be in Louisville Wednesday to talk about the future of the automaker's Louisville Assembly Plant.It's expected that Mark Fields will formally announce that Ford will invest hundreds of millions of dollars to retool the Fern Valley Road facility, where it will produce the Escape sport utility vehicle and other fuel-efficient models.Renovations at the plant are expected to begin this month and be completed by late 2011.The Louisville Assembly Plant has long been the home of the Ford Explorer, but production of a new version of the SUV has begun at a Chicago plant, which now has flexible assembly lines such as those that will be installed in Louisville.
