By Sheila AshJefferson County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Sheldon Berman says he’ll continue to fulfill his duties for the remainder of his contract. The JCPS board voted last month not to extend his contract when it expires June 30th."We have a remainder of the year to go through and we’re going to work as hard to work with the schools and continue to pursue the improvement efforts that we’ve been ah that we’ve undertaken. There’s a lot to be done and I want to see this draw to an effective completion of the year," Berman said during an interview with WFPL today (Tues) at the winter conference of the Kentucky Association of School Superintendents.He says he hopes the next leader of the district will build on the accomplishments of his administration.The school board is expected to discuss the search for a new superintendent at its meeting next week.(File photo by Gabe Bullard)
