The Louisville Free Public Library is getting $1.2 million for technology improvements.Library Director Craig Buthod says nearly $744,000 from the federal stimulus package, plus funding from the Library Foundation and Metro Government, will make the upgrades possible."What this will do is more than quadruple the speed of data access. That's going to be really important over the next few years and more and more content comes over those computer lines," he said. The money will also pay for 124 desktop computers, 13 mini-laptop computers and expansion of the Job Shop career program, among other improvements.Buthod says the upgrades will begin immediately and continue over the next 12 to 14 months.
