By Tony McVeigh, Kentucky Public RadioAll 100 Kentucky House seats are up for grabs this year, but in today’s primary, only 25 House districts have contested races.A look at a few of them:Two Republicans are battling for the opportunity to take on House Speaker Pro Tem Larry Clark of Louisville this fall. Two Democrats are fighting for the seat held by former House budget chairman Harry Moberly of Richmond, who’s retiring.Republican Rep. Scott Brinkman of Louisville and Democratic Rep. Eddie Ballard of Madisonville are also retiring, and there are primary battles for their seats.Freshman lawmaker Jill York of Grayson has Republican opposition and two Republicans are fighting for the chance to take on Democratic Rep. Tom McKee of Cynthiana this fall.Democratic representatives with primary opposition include Jim Gooch of Providence, Jimmie Lee of Elizabethtown, Tom Riner of Louisville, Royce Adams of Dry Ridge, Sannie Overly of Paris, Richard Henderson of Jeffersonville, Teddy Edmonds of Jackson, Ancel “Hard Rock” Smith of Leburn, Keith Hall of Phelps and Leslie Combs of Pikeville.Republicans representatives with primary opponents include Tommy Turner of Somerset, Charlie Siler of Williamsburg, Adam Koenig of Erlanger and Lonnie Napier of Lancaster.
