by Gabe BullardThe Louisville Metro Council will consider a revised ethics ordinance Thursday.A workgroup was formed last year to reconcile two opposing updates to the ethics code for Metro Government officials. They completed their work and the ordinance unanimously passed the Government Accountability and Oversight Committee Wednesday. Some of the most contentious debate in the ethics reform discussion centered on the definition of government officers and the language regarding conflicts of interest between those officers and their family members in government business. Those issues were settled by the workgroup and by several amendments in the accountability committee this week.
