By Tony McVeigh, Kentucky Public RadioThe Kentucky House Appropriations and Revenue Committee will hold hearings today on a new biennial state budget.House leaders signed off on the $17 billion spending plan last Friday and sent it to the printers. Chairman Rick Rand says a committee vote on the budget should come Tuesday night. "Our budget subcommittees will make their reports and then we'll come back on adjournment and vote the budget bill out," Rand said.Monday night, the committee approved a new budget for the Transportation Cabinet and a revised six-year road plan. The bills now move to the House floor.
