by Stephanie CrosbyThe Kentucky Hall of Fame will induct new honorees this year, and the Kentucky Human Rights Commission is currently accepting nominations.Commission spokesperson Victoria Dempsey says any Kentucky resident, living or dead, is eligible to be nominated for service to further civil rights in the Commonwealth.Dempsey says they’ve inducted 87 people since the Hall of Fame began in 2000.“John Johnson, who is the executive director currently of the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights is a member of the Hall of Fame," says Dempsey. "He was the youngest NAACP president in Kentucky at the age of 17 several years ago.”Dempsey says they’ll collect nominations through June 15th. Then a panel will vote on the recommendations and finally a private auditor will identify the inductees.
