Thanks to WUKY, LexingtonUniversity of Kentucky football coach Rich Brooks is retiring after seven seasons in Lexington. The 68 year old Brooks finishes his career with a 39-47 record at Kentucky, but it ended with four straight winning seasons and bowl bids. His teams won the first three contests but fell last month to Clemson in the Music City Bowl. Brooks says this past season's team also fell short of his goal to be more competitive in the tough Southeastern Conference."I know all the fans want that to happen, and I think it's close to happening. I just hope that everybody will support it in a way that is necessary," he said.Brooks will be replaced by offensive coordinator Joker Phillips, who has been UK's head-coach-in-waiting for two years.(Photo courtesy of www.ukathletics.com)
