U Of L Flood Recovery Nearly Complete

Officials at the University of Louisville expect the campus to be fully recovered from the August 4th flood next month.Dozens of buildings on the Belknap Campus took on water on August 4th. Of those, four weren't open when fall classes started. One of the buildings will go back online next week and Provost Shirley Willihnganz expects the rest to re-open by the end of October."Over the next month we anticipate that all the other buildings will open up," she says. "So our College of Education, the bottom level of our business school, the Fairfax building. We should have all those online."The repairs will cost about 15 million dollars, which Willihnganz says is all-but guaranteed."We've had about five million paid already. We anticipate that everything should be covered between insurance and FEMA," she says. Some campus buildings took on water during last Sunday's rainfall, but Willihnganz says the damage was minor.
