Starting today, the Kentucky State Fair Board is hiring some 800 temporary workers for this year's fair. The board is looking for workers to help with maintenance and groundskeeping and to give tours and run trams.Spokesperson Vicki Glass says even though the jobs are temporary, the high unemployment numbers could make competition fierce for the open positions."There may well be a lot more people this year than in years past that are looking for these part-time positions," she says. "Again, it's only 11 days or so that they will be employed, but heck, if you're out of a job, that's money that can be generated."Wages for the jobs start at $7.25 per hour. Applications will be taken near Gate 4 of the Kentucky Expo Center
