The New Albany-Floyd County School Board hopes to name a new superintendent within the next month and will interview two finalists this week.On Monday, Dr. Cathlin Gray from the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation will have a second interview with the school board and then meet teachers, parents and students at two public meetings. On Wednesday Dr. Bruce Hibbard from the Washington Township schools in Indianapolis will go through the same process.Both candidates are administrators in their respective districts. Floyd County Schools spokesperson Dave Rarick says officials were pleased with the number of qualified applicants for the opening."We originally had sixteen applicants, seven of which were interviewed and now the school board has chosen these two to come in and go through the process," he says.Rarick says the board hopes to choose a superintendent before its August 3rd meeting, but could decide to go back an interview some of the other applicants.
