Yarmuth Donates Congressional Salary To Charity

Congressman John Yarmuth of Louisville says he's again donating his government salary to charity.Yarmuth announced Thursday that 31 Louisville organizations will share just over $120,000.The second-term congressman also donated his previous year's salary to various groups.Yarmuth says these charities will receive "varying sums:"African-American Heritage CenterAlzheimer's AssociationBoys and Girls ClubBoys HavenBrain Injury AssociationBridgehavenBrooklawnCASACenter for Women and FamiliesChildren's Hospital FoundationDare to CareElderserveFamily Scholar HouseFund for the ArtsHabitat for HumanityHarbor HouseHazelwood CenterHome of the InnocentsJewish Community CenterKentucky HarvestLibrary FoundationLouisville Urban LeagueMaryhurstMetro United WayNAACPPresbyterian Community CenterRed CrossSimmons CollegeUnited Jewish CampaignWellspringYouth Alive

Rick Howlett was midday host and the host of LPM's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." He was with LPM from 2001-2023 and held many different titles, including Morning Edition host, Assignment Editor and Interim News Director. He died in August 2023. Read a remembrance of Rick here.
