Barring any last-minute legal rulings, Marco Allen Chapman will be put to death Friday at the Kentucky State Penitentiary at Eddyville.Capital punishment opponents have organized a series of vigils across the state that will continue through Friday evening.Mark Meade with the Kentucky Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty is organizing an event in downtown Louisville. It will include several speakers."Presenting different statments or reasoning for opposing state killing in Kentucky and also marking the fact that we're against this practice, and keeping in our hearts everyone who's demeaned by state killing in Kentucky," Meade said.The 37 year old Chapman is scheduled to die by lethal injection for the 2002 murders of two children in northern Kentucky. He says he's ready to be put to death for his crimes.
