Indiana Congressman Mike Pence has been elected to the number three House Republican leadership post.Pence will serve a two-year term as the GOP Conference Chairman."What I sense among this leadership team is a clear understanding that Republicans need to renew our commitment to the timeless principles of our party. But we will work together to build substantive alternatives to the new administration or the Democratic majority in Congress when we differ," Pence said during a Washington press conference.The Republican Conference is the organizational entity for GOP House members and is also responsible for executing a communications strategy.Pence represents Indiana's 6th District, which includes the cities of Muncie, Anderson and Richmond.He replaces Florida's Adam Putnam as conference chairman. Putnam stepped down after this month's general election.
