From Kentucky Public Radio's Tony McVeighWith gas prices soaring, Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear is encouraging state employees, when possible, to consider adopting a four-day workweek. He says the option has been available for several years, but is used by fewer than two percent of state workers."We want to aggressively expand that use, where appropriate, by asking our cabinet secretaries, agency heads and managers to take a closer look at implementation of those schedules," Beshear said.Beshear is also encouraging carpooling among state workers who commute to their jobs. To assist in that effort, the state is launching a website to help commuting workers find each other. The web address is www.kentucky.gov/carpool.
