A state Republican caucus is set for Friday in Indiana to choose a candidate to run against Democratic U.S. Representative Andre Carson this fall.Carson won a special election in March to finish the unexpired term of his late grandmother Julia Carson, who died in December.State Republican Party spokesperson Jay Kenworthy says a GOP committee will select a candidate to run against Carson in November.“We want to get somebody who has been in the community for a while, has some experience working with the folks of district seven and someone who would be a good representative for them in Washington,”Kenworthy said.The 7th Congressional District includes Indianapolis.The filing deadline to be considered by the committee is Tuesday. At least three candidates are seeking the nomination.
