Daniels Establishes Disaster Recovery Office

Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels has announced the creation of a new state office to help coordinate recovery efforts from storms and floods that struck much of the state during the spring.Daniels has established the Office of Disaster Recovery, to be led by state Agriculture Director Andy Miller.   The governor says it will help flood and storm victims navigate the sometimes confusing application process for federal aid."It will operate out of the governor's office here, it will be in existence as long as these application processes are open,"   Daniels said.   We want to make sure once again that every Hoosier in every community avails themselves of the potential assistance." Daniels says many people eligible for asisstance have not applied, and deadlines are approaching.
