The Louisville Department of Public Health and Wellness has confirmed a local case of salmonella linked to a national outbreak blamed on certain types of raw tomatoes.The department's Dr. Matt Zahn says the strain of the bacteria called Salmonella Saintpaul caused a Louisville woman to become ill. She has since recovered."It was a case that occurred for a person who was sick in May, so there's been a period of time of making sure we have laboratory confirmation, but it has been confirmed at this point," Zahn said.The woman has not been publicly identified because of privacy rules. It's the first such case in Kentucky. Once case has been confirmed in Indiana.More than 200 people in two dozen states have been sickened by salmonella linked to certain types of raw tomatoes. Many stores and restaurants have voluntarily pulled them.
