Local Living Economies
The black and white billboards around town encouraging you to Keep Louisville Weird are part of a growing movement that values local businesses over large corporations. In 2001 our guest, Judy Wicks, co-founded the Business Alliance for Local Living Economies in Philadelphia. BALLE, which now comprises 15,000 entrepreneurs, promotes networking between local businesses while encouraging green business practices. Supporting independent businesses, they say, strengthens the economy, the community and the environment. Join us Tuesday when we talk with Judy Wicks and Louisville business owners about buying local.
