NCAA Basketball Resumes Thursday

The University of Louisville men's basketball team is in Charlotte, North Carolina, preparing for Thursday night's matchup against Tennessee in the NCAA tournament.The Cardinals and Volunteers will play shortly before 10:00pm in the East Region semifinal game.U of L Coach Rick Pitino says getting ready for a big tournament game involves a lot of work, but it's fun."I'm really excited. Sometimes it doesn't show because.....you watch so much film, you're up so late, you get so little sleep, that you're just beat, physically. But inside we're really excited."Western Kentucky is also back in action Thursday in the men's tournament. The Hilltoppers face UCLA in a West Region semifinal at Phoenix.The U of L women's team has a couple of days off before resuming play in the NCAA tournament. The Cardinals will face North Carolina Saturday at Noon in New Orleans in the Sweet Sixteen round.

Rick Howlett was midday host and the host of LPM's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." He was with LPM from 2001-2023 and held many different titles, including Morning Edition host, Assignment Editor and Interim News Director. He died in August 2023. Read a remembrance of Rick here.
