U of L Rebranding Downtown Expansion Project

University of Louisville officials will announce Wednesday morning that the  planned $2.3 billion expansion of the school's downtown health sciences campus is getting a new brand name.U of L President James Ramsey says the project will be known as Nucleus. The university announced a plan last year to develop research and other  facilities at the old Haymarket block in downtown Louisville, saying it could create thousands of new jobs and attract some of the world's top scientists to the city. The effort has been operating as the Louisville Medical Center Development Corporation.Ramsey says he's mindful that a soft state and national economy could delay the  expansion's progress, but he's not overly concerned."The slowdown in the construction industry creates problems in terms of  financing and working with private devleopers, but we feel that this is a continuation of what we've been doing, we've got to continue to move forward," Ramsey saidMore details about Nucleus will be disclosed at a breakfast event Wednesday at the Seelbach Hotel.
