Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear says he's trying to muster support for his measure that would allow casino gambling in the Commonwealth.A House committee approved a constitutional amendment Wednesday that would allow voters to decide whether casinos should be permitted, but the measure doesn't have enough support at this point to win full House passage.Beshear says he doesn't know how long it will take to persuade lawmakers to approve the amendment."What is happening, though, is that the process is going to continue moving, and as it moves down to the Senate, you know, this is going to be looked at. The horse industry is going to continue to be involved, we hope, and I hope, because we need them involved, so that by the end of the day, whatever we come out with, people will feel comfortable enough with it to support it on the ballot," Beshear said after a Thursday meeting with House Democratic leaders. The measure approved Wednesday would allow up to nine casinos across Kentucky.
