listen hear! spotlights a song we like and think you will too!
Montreal psych-rock band The Besnard Lakes have returned with their first new album in nearly 5 years. “ The Besnard Lakes Are The Last of the Great Thunderstorm Warnings” is a searing, 72-minute psychedelic opus about the darkness of death and the light on the other side. One of our favorite tracks is " Our Heads, Our Hearts on Fire Again". The song is an ode to logic and intuition and being able to learn from the past.
“This song has been floating around since the Roaring Night era. We could never figure out how to finish it. Well, we figured out how to finish it. It has that 3/4 waltz we love so much, the same 3/4 waltz that ‘Disaster’ (off their acclaimed 2007 album, The Besnard Lakes Are the Dark Horse) rested upon. It’s also a bit of a lament about how sad we were when we parted ways with [our former label] Jagjaguwar.”
