Listen for a song from our Tuesday Featured Artist every hour from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
We can't keep a secret. Musician, singer-songwriter, producer and author extraordinaire, Declan Patrick MacManus, better known to all by his stage name Elvis Costello, celebrates his 62nd birthday this Thursday (8/25), and we can't help ourselves but celebrate a bit early. With the release of his first record "My Aim Is True" in 1977, his bristling cynicism and anger linked him with the punk and new wave explosion. He's been evolving ever since. His work spanning more than 4 decades has run the musical spectrum from punk to pop, classical to classic standards and now includes his work as author of the autobiography "Unfaithful Music & Disappearing Ink". His collaborative works have involved the likes of Sir Paul McCartney, Allen Toussaint, Burt Bacharach, his wife Diana Krall, and hip-hop artists The Roots. We'll be celebrating the work of the Grammy Award winner, Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame member Elvis Costello as our Tuesday Featured Artist!
